This afternoon I chose Lord of All Hopefulness for our even song. It has always been one of my favourite hymns. But, it was instrumental in my re-conversion to the Anglican form of Christianity three years ago. It was the opening hymn at the principal service in Peterbourogh Cathedral the Sunday I was there. I managed to sing the first verse and then the emotion took over and I wept though the rest of the Eucharist. I knew when this hymn began that I'd been called home to the Episcopal Church.
